READ AND BREW – LIBRARY TERMS & CONDITIONS

Dear Member,

By subscribing to our library services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

  1. Membership & General Policy
    1. All members are treated equally, and services are provided without discrimination based on background, role, or membership type.
    2. By enrolling, you confirm that all personal details provided are accurate. Any discrepancy may result in the membership being put on hold until KYC is completed.
    3. Membership charges and registration charges are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.
  2. Book Borrowing, Usage & Damage
    1. Members are expected to handle books responsibly. Normal wear and tear during reading is acceptable.
    2. Any major damage to books will attract a fine equivalent to the MRP of the book.
    3. Any damage noticed at the time of receiving books must be reported on the same or next day.
    4. Members must exchange at least one book every quarter to ensure fair circulation of library resources.
  3. Doorstep Delivery & Book Exchange
    1. Free doorstep service is applicable once per calendar month.
    2. Any additional requests within the same month will be chargeable at ₹70 per request.
    3. Members may exchange even a single book in a month while retaining other borrowed books.
  4. Book Requests & Fulfilment
    1. Book requests are accepted for both available and currently unavailable titles.
    2. All requests are subject to internal review based on demand, popularity, and supplier availability.
    3. Fulfilment timelines may vary, and certain requests may remain unfulfilled.
    4. Once fulfilled, book requests cannot be blocked for more than 7 days to ensure fair circulation for all members.
  5. Order Fulfilment, Substitution & Inventory Disclaimer
    1. In rare cases, if a book in an order is unavailable at the time of fulfilment:
      1. It may be replaced with a similar title, or
      2. It may be removed from the order.
    2. Such situations may arise due to occasional inventory discrepancies while managing both online and in-store fulfilments simultaneously.
  6. Special Category Restrictions
    1. Popular children’s series such as Thea Stilton, Geronimo Stilton, Dog Man, Bad Guys, and Tintin are limited to a maximum of 2 books per order.
    2. This policy encourages wider reading habits and prevents blockage of high-demand titles.
  7. Membership Renewal
    1. Membership renewal must be completed strictly on time.
    2. Renewals can be conveniently completed online and visiting the store solely for renewal is not recommended.
    3. If the membership expires while books are still in possession, renewal must still be completed on time.
    4. Penalties or fines may apply in case of delayed renewal.
    5. If renewal is not completed by the fourth day after expiry:
      1. The borrowing limit will be reduced by one.
      2. The limit will only be restored after two consecutive on-time renewals.
  8. Membership Pause
    1. To pause a membership, all borrowed books must be returned.
    2. Pausing and resuming within the same calendar month is not permitted.
  9. Membership Closure & Refunds
    1. Refundable deposit will only be processed after all books are returned in acceptable condition.
    2. Upon initiation of closure, refunds will be processed within 2–4 days, subject to account review and adjustment of any pending dues.
    3. If a member chooses to quit, withdraw, or close membership, all books must be returned within a grace period of 2 days after expiry.
  10. Deposit Policy
    1. The refundable deposit amount cannot be used for membership renewals during the tenure.
    2. The refundable deposit serves as security against loss or damage of library assets.
  11. Communication & Non-Response Policy
    1. Renewal reminders are sent via SMS, Email, and WhatsApp.
    2. If no response is received within 4 days of membership expiry, book pickup may be initiated.
    3. Non-cooperation during pickup may result in fines and/or permanent termination of membership.
  12. Termination & Misconduct
    1. Read and Brew reserves the right to permanently terminate membership based on account history or misconduct.
    2. No refunds will be processed in case of termination.
    3. Terminated members will not be allowed to use library services in the future.
    4. Any unnecessary arguments or disruptive behaviour within the store may lead to immediate denial of service and/or termination.
  13. Non-Return & Legal Action
    1. Failure or refusal to return books may result in legal proceedings.
    2. Initiation of legal action will lead to immediate termination of membership without refund.
  14. Extreme Non-Compliance
    1. In cases of severe non-compliance with the terms stated above, Read and Brew reserves the right to initiate legal action for recovery of assets and dues.
    2. Such actions will result in termination of membership and forfeiture of the refundable deposit.
  15. Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction
    1. All disputes shall be governed by the laws of India.
    2. Jurisdiction shall lie exclusively with courts located in Pune District.
  16. Acceptance of Terms
    1. By enrolling in our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all the above Terms & Conditions.
